Some Good News

The final practice report came out confirming that Eli Manning spent a second straight day inside taking treatment. But it also appears that second-round rookie LB Clint Sintim (groin) is nearing a return to the lineup after taking a full practice today. Whether that translates into playing Sunday remains to be seen, but the Giants could certainly use the extra body at WLB. Especially one that can rush the passer in a situational mode.

G Rich Seubert (shoulder) and DE Justin Tuck (shoulder) also took a full workload.

WR Domenik Hixon (knee) took a limited workload today, leaving a question as to whether he'll be ready Sunday. My guess is he won't be.

TE Kevin Boss (ankle) and LB Bryan Kehl (finger) sat out the entire practice along with LB Michael Boley (knee), DT Chris Canty (calf) and RB Ahmad Bradshaw (ankle and foot). The news is especially discouraging on Canty, who was seen jogging yesterday but could do nothing today.

"He has issues," Tom Coughlin said. "It's just very difficult to get him beyond a certain point. It's frustrating for him and us."

  1. Too bad about Canty not jogging today, but I think the Giants are doing the right thing by being patient with him. No need to rush him back, the Gints will need him later this season as they face better teams than the Raiders down the road.

  2. I can't wait to see Sintim. He looked awesome in that one preseason game. I think he can both rush the passer and be molded into the MLB possibly as early as next season. I don't want to upset Pierce loyalists but he is getting old, wants to be paid and his physical ability is on the decline.

Giants last in rushing yards per attempt so far.

  4. That Dallas game didn't help. That number wll go down a lot in time. Getting Canty back eventually will help too.. No need for concern.
